Redesign
Overview
This case study explores a redesign of the BookMyShow movie-ticket booking experience, focusing on simplifying navigation, improving content hierarchy, and making the booking journey more intuitive.
BookMyShow Movie Booking Redesign
The redesign focuses on improving the end-to-end movie booking experience, from discovering movies and selecting a theatre to choosing a showtime, selecting seats, completing payment, and accessing digital tickets. The project combines user research, flow mapping, wireframing, visual design, and prototyping to explore a more streamlined experience.

User Flow
The booking journey was mapped to understand the key steps users take when discovering and reserving movie tickets.
The redesigned flow covers new-user onboarding, movie discovery, language and format selection, theatre selection, date and time selection, seat selection, payment, and checkout. Mapping the journey helped identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary steps and create a more predictable booking experience.

Research & Analysis
Research and competitive analysis were used to understand the existing booking experience and identify areas where the user journey could be improved.
The research focused on understanding how users discover movies, compare formats and showtimes, select seats, and complete ticket purchases. The findings helped define usability opportunities around navigation, information hierarchy, booking clarity, and reducing friction during checkout.

Design System & Wireframes
A consistent visual system and early wireframes were developed to establish the structure and interaction patterns for the redesigned experience.
The design system defines typography, colour, iconography, navigation, buttons, controls, imagery, and supporting assets. Sketches and wireframes were then used to explore screen layouts and refine the booking journey before moving into the final UI.
